"Gina travelled the world singing with different bands along the way. She has performed in Japan, Indonesia, Greenland, Singapore, Malaysia, Maldives, and Bali along with the French owned resort chain Club Med. Gina was even flown by the Malaysian King Tuanku Abdul Rahman with her then band to the Royal Palace to sing for his birthday. That’s a whole lot of onstage charisma to impress a King!"
When Gina Michaells was growing up in the Philippines she had big dreams. As a little kid she just absolutely loved to listen to the sweet tones of Country Music Superstars like Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton and Tammy Wynette. They were a huge influence on her and when she began singing at just 6 years old, they were already shaping her singing.
Who could have said that she would one day be touring the world just like her heroes? Because Gina didn’t have an easy time growing up. Her father left before she was born, and she lost her mother when she was still very small. Her older sister was adopted in America and Gina was adopted by two older sisters from the mountains of La Union in the Northern part of the country, where she was always the odd one out. As a lonely little girl in the country, taking care of the family goats, she started singing to them and the rest was history.
Gina continued to sing all through high school and college. It was her passion and pretty soon she could be seen all over the Philippines singing with several cover bands. She sang to anyone who wanted to pay her and listen, from town fiestas, weddings and funerals to Officers from the nearby American Airbase for their birthday parties and receptions. But Gina was never meant just for one country. Her heart, her talent and her dreams led her to bigger things and at just 20 years old she headed out to sing around the world.

It was in Greenland that Gina met and married her husband before they moved to Norway where a whole new career phase started for her. Gina had always loved Country Music and she hadn’t forgotten those Country Music Superstars she loved so much as a child. She discovered she had a talent for songwriting too and she started her Country Music career in Norway with the production and release of a few singles, one of which, “Somebody’s Angel”, produced and written by Nashville producer and songwriter Lonnie Ratliff, hit #10 on the American NMW Main Country chart.
Gina fell in love with music all over again and started to write many songs for herself and for other Country Music artists. She made several TV appearances including NRK Country Jukebox and Norways’ Got Talent, where she was kicked out.. But any publicity is good publicity, right?!
Now Gina and her husband have moved to Denmark and she makes her living with her beloved music singing in a party band and writing songs. Lately Gina has been on All together now 2018, Denmark got talent 2018 and X Factor 2019. Now it´s time to work on her own music again, and she just keeps on working to make her music dreams come true!.
